The Birthday Train!

Happy Birthday Girls!
Hummm... maybe I should have one of these "birthdays" everyone is talking about...

Wesley (and his parents!) were invited to another fabulous birthday party! There was a moon bounce and even a train to ride! It was a beautiful day spent with friends!

Yummy!

Wesley is officially on solids as of this week... we are on Day 5 of rice cereal and I think he is more interested in the spoon and the bowl than the food. I'm glad he isn't spitting it out. Today we had breakfast just the way I want it to be... Wesley eats his cereal, then Mommy eats her cereal and a banana and then I let him try a taste of my banana. I'm hoping to demonstrate good eating habits for him and teach by example. It made me really proud this morning like I'm doing a good job. I even relaxed and let him make a mess and play with the spoon and bowl... as long as I could take a few pics, of course!

Our Last Full Day

We spent the afternoon in the jacuzzi (with the temperature turned down so Wesley could enjoy). It was very relaxing! Then, we went back into Fort Sumter Landing and watched a little of the evening entertainment at the town square. We ended the evening with dinner at Dominick's, an Italian place, where we had another great meal! After tucking Wesley into bed, the adults got in the jacuzzi and enjoyed one last round of Mojitos before packing it in for the night. We had a late morning flight back home on a very full plane, so I didn't take any pictures of the journey home. The flight home went even better for Wesley than the flight down to Florida, even if his peek-a-boo buddy wasn't there. Luckily, we returned to beautiful weather in Baltimore.

Another Fun Day!

It started with an afternoon at the pool and ended with another great dinner out with the whole family, including Rachel and Michael.

Fort Sumter Landing

Grandma and Grandpa offered to watch Wesley while Mom and Dad went out for lunch. So, we headed to Fort Sumter Landing in the golf cart and walked around the town square. We opted to have lunch at The Veranda, a super cute restaurant offering sandwiches. We sat and chatted and watched people pass by, beit walking or in their cars or golf carts. It takes a little getting used to to be in a golf cart community, and makes for some interesting sights. Some people take their golf carts VERY seriously!

That evening we headed up to Nancy Lopez's Country Club to watch a Jimmy Buffet-esque entertainer, indulge in some Happy Hour specials and met up with Aunt Rachel and Uncle Michael.

Goin' swimmin'

Sitting back, enjoying a good read, poolside

Wesley really enjoyed hanging out in his "safety device." Thanks Grandma!

After putting Wesley to bed, Mom and Dad went for a Golf Cart ride and snapped a few pictures of the sunset.

More "firsts"

At dinner, Wesley drank some water for the very first time! No sippy cup here - we went straight for the water glass. How refined! He was very interested and would even grip his little hands on the rim and stick his little tongue into the glass. It was very cute and exciting to see him that interested in drinking out of a cup. We ate at the Cattle Baron, which is on the second floor overlooking Katie Belle's. The Villages is a retirement community described as "Disney World for old people" by my father-in-law. And frankly, it is the truth! The whole community is themed and EVERY night there is live entertainment at the two town squares. After dinner we watched a little of the band and Welsy had his first dance with Grandma. The 'Fountain of Youth' at The Villages.
