We put it off long enough and it was time for Wesley's first haircut. My bald little baby is growing up and is not bald any longer. As you can see in the "before" pics, it was mostly long in the back and otherwise only needed a trim. Yesterday we headed to the local mall and I took all kinds of pictures and when we checked in, there was no receptionist and the stylist was a little rude when she directed me to sign in. Since Wesley's first haircut was a pretty big deal to me, I didn't want someone with a bum attitude to bring down the fun. So, we walked out and let Wesley play (and play and play) in the play area at the mall.

Today we headed to Pigtails and Crewcuts in Annapolis and it was worth the drive! Before we even entered the salon we were greeted with a smile and the stylists were all so nice. They all knew what an important occasion this was and they helped us document the occasion by providing us with a folder with a lock of his hair and a photo. Of course, I took a few photos too. After all, it was a super cute salon!

The "chairs" for the kids are little vehicles, they had a plane, a police car and a little firetruck. Wesley started off in the firetruck and he just couldn't wait to get in as soon as we walked in. As his haircut went on and he got a little antsy, we moved him into a little airplane. They did have a cartoon playing on the flat screen television they had hanging on the wall next to the station, but Wesley isn't much of a TV guy. He did really well through the entire haircut, and only remotely fussed when the clippers came out. Even so, there were no tears. Once he was done, he had his sights set on the little train table in the waiting area. Now that he has his new haircut, he looks even more like a little boy. Aw, my baby is growing up fast!
